VICIOUS CIRCLES
If I had a dime
for every time
I've asked myself
why I go on living,
then I'd have enough money that
I wouldn't ask myself that
anymore,
but then once again, I'd go broke
and have to start asking that
all over again.

DAMN YOU, SANFORD
I really don't care
when or where
or who
you fuck,
but I'll be damned if I'll let you
out do
me
in emails to my lovers.

SUMMER SUCKS
Nuff said.

GOD PSYCHOLOGY
I often wonder if
God is tragedian
or commedian,
or maybe He's
bi-polar.
I know some bi-polars.
Yes, have waited several times
while stomachs were pumped.
So in my mind there's lttle doubt
that He's one of them --
so very much in need of
self-love and so craving of attention.

A HYMN TO MY FERAL CATS
Scardy-cat, scardy-cat,
run from me.
Jump off the landing.
twenty feet if need be.
Run away, run away, run away, all!
But damned if you don't come crawling
when the feed hits the pan.
Ah, the bravery that comes of knowing
there's food to be had,
I guess that's the history of all life on earth
and that's very sad.
But not necessarily
so horribly, terribly bad.
Of course, I don't know what
Kant would have to say
about feral cats
and our obligations to them per se,
neither, I'd guess, do the 14 feral cats
argue any ethics eyond their hunger pangs
-- which, of course,
makes them less human than me.
Right?
