Has anyone read anything--in the Journal of Higher Ed maybe?--on theproblems that human genome sequencing might create for those who wantto base the awarding scholarships on racial characteristics ratherthan financial need? America, with its vestiges of the "one drop ofblood" test, seems particularly vulnerable to a claim, "my ancestorscame from eastern Africa," which would be true for every applicant.
