No point. Just thought it was interesting. I was a little surprised, I thought the world was growing exponentially. Seems some of it is Malthusian. In Zimbabwe the life expectancy for women is 34 and for men 37. A lot of the population worldwide will be older too, which hopefully means the violence may go down (my conclusion), but based on what's going on currently, maybe no such luck. I'm not worried the world will run out of people. ----- Original Message ----- From: Paul Stone To: lit-ideas@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: 4/9/2006 10:21:56 PM Subject: [lit-ideas] Re: Population AA: It's growing by about a billion a year, but the rate at which it's growing has slowed: http://www.census.gov/ipc/www/worldpop.html According to this, it's growing by LESS than 100 million a year AND... the growth rate peaked in 1989 (at 88 kmil and change) and has steadily decreased to levels of 1978 last year. What's your point? Paul _________________ [insert pithy quote here] Paul Stone pas@xxxxxxxx Leamington, ON. Canada
