[lit-ideas] Re: Phasing out the incandescent lightbulb

"Voluntary simplicity", it's wonderful.  I read an article in the local paper that Gen Xer's are now carrying the real estate torch in a bigger way than the baby boomers did.  "Gen Xers are in the market for top-of-the-line kitchen appliances and 'certain commodities that define quality of life...'".  Commodities that define quality of life.  Sounds stressful to me; apparently it's inspired by all the decorating shows.  For a brief instant once upon a time less was more...  Simplify, simplify ...

I thought I was the only one with that particular closet!!  I feel oddly comforted.  And disturbed.

Sorting through a decade of clutter in those closets -- Spring Cleaning, don'tcha know.   However, by the time the clutter is sorted, organized, much disposed of (my trash man hates me I'm sure), there will be brand new stock-piled clutter to take its place.  Remind me -- what happened to the notion of simplicity?  Oh yeah.  Kids.
