Except for the sadness of imagining this story happening to someone we
know, it's really fascinatingly instructive as to how easy it is to mess
people up. Plant a little seed early and securely and watch it sprout
and grow into a strangling vine. Makes you wonder how so many of us
make it into adulthood with sanity more than less intact.
