[lit-ideas] P.S. to Thoughts

That website that I posted just now is rather on the bleak side.  However, it's
hard talk about unbridled greed and its consequences optimistically.  Other
sites, including Wikipedia, are so abstruse that they're a waste of time.  Like
he says on that website, people in the industry don't understand this stuff,
literally.  They're too busy raking in the bonuses.  Good old economics.  It
assumes the impossible, that people behave rationally and that 'all other
things remain equal'.  And neither ever is the case.  Actually, there's now a
trend to think of economic issues as emotionally driven.  Better late than
never, even if about 30,000 people in the country would read those books in the
first place.
