elbow grease won't harm males.
I think that's not quite entirely correct. Although, doing dishes IS in
itself, not very harmful to men, the fact that a standard sink/counter is
significantly lower [probably a holdover from the days in which - typically
shorter - women were the ONLY ones who did dishes] than is terribly
comfortable to someone who is over about 5'6" tall makes it very painful.
Standing with a slight tilt of let's say 5 or 10 degrees does very nasty
things to a person's back.
