[lit-ideas] Re: Odd story

Hi,
It's odd, but definitely sounds like home.  Is it peculiar to the  Midwest?  
Too many deer?  
 
The story reminds me of the deer which ran into a woman at a Wal-mart  
shopping center in Independence, MO (near here) around Christmas Eve-time.   
(She 
was the wife of a suburban principal--one of my staff has a son in his  
school--people recognized her as she ended up in the hospital and, of course, 
on  the 
television news.)  The joke then was that Santa's reindeer were  revolting...
 
Too many deer...not enough natural predators?  What can you  do?  Deer are 
taking over the Wal-mart Shopping Centers and  running into your homes.
