Actually I meant you pinned a lot on two accounts of Nigeria -- 
as you'll have seen, I don't deny gun control has failed there,
though in a way that differs from the accounts you give -- I
should have made that clear.  Whether the failure of gun control
there counts as a refutation of Mike's statements I should leave
to him, though I think not, given his posts in this thread.
Whether the single example of Nigeria shows that gun control
cannot succeed (to an extent) is easier to address: it does not.
