[lit-ideas] Re: Martis Defensio/Offensio: The Shield and The Arrow

Please note typo in previous subject-line. Please correct it. I wouldn't
like to see
a thread develop out of a typo!

What's first, offense or defense?

The phrase seems to come natural as "the shield and the arrow"
hence I kept it as defensio/offensio.

It's a bit like the egg and the hen.

But if you think of the Aryan (Ares, Mars) while they were invaders
(offensers) they were being offended themselves by the
other races from the East. (Migratory processes).

It's not like Ares (and the Greeks) decided out of pleasure
to settle in Hellas. They were _forced_ by attackers on
the rear front to do that.

But I hope L. K. Helm will have a contrasting opinion so we can provide a
_controversia_.
