What an excellent thing to display. It motivated me to enrich bios and have
them alphabetically. You're still sort of last

BRUCE, Chris. He was born in the USA, but now lives in Kiel, Deutschland. He
has written extensively on things.

CHASE, Michael. He was born in San Francisco. Now lives in Paris, not far
from the house of P. Berger.

DEAN, Eric. He lives in Maine. He enjoys literature and philosophy and has
other broad variety of interests.

ENNS, Phil. He was born in Canada. He now lives in Indonesia. His
specialisations are philosophy, literature and ideas.

EVANS, Judith. She was born in Bath, and now lives in Penylan. She has a
brother. She and her mother are English. Judy is an alumna of LSE, she lived
for
some time in York --. Her specialization is political theory and she writes
provocatively on issues of feminism and women in pornography. She knows all
the right literature and can speak for hours without insulting people.

FARNBOROUGH, Philip. He is a priest of the presbyterean congregation. He
signs and plays the organ. He has written extensively on the Holy Trinity.

FOOT, Orlando. A drag-queen. She works in Las Vegas.

GEARY, John Michael. Born in Two-Tree Hospital, Memphis, TN. Educated in
Memphis. Travelled to Seattle, WA, and stayed there. Before that, during the
war, he became Canadian. Later returned to Memphis. He enjoys poetry (to write
it), and works as a mechanic of air-conditioners.

HALL, Priscilla. She is a librarian at the town library of "Los Gatos",
California. She reads a lot and always has an interesting view on things.

HELM, Lawrence. Lives in San Jacinto -- a marine. He has two dogs. He writes
on issues of wildlife and political life.

HENNINGE, Richard. Like Chris Bruce, he lives in Germany. He has written on
a variety of things.

HOLDER, Erin. She studied German in Toronto, her birthplace. She has
travelled, and has an interest in German philosophy. She reads a lot and has
good
ideas in literature and ideas.

HILTON, Paris. One of the Geary set. She enjoys reading Geary's posts even
if she contributes little.

KIRSCHBAUM, Carol. She lives in Berkeley, Calif., and has original ideas in
both literature and ideas.

KRUEGER, Julie. She lives in Missouri. She has an ear for ordinary language,
and the right native-speaker intuitions. She enjoys etymologies, and she has
strong political views -- all of the right type. She is very well read, and
likes to shares opinions on both literature and ideas with this list.

MADONNA. Mainly a lurker. She has a couple of children, by different papas.
She sings.

MCCREERY, John. He was born in Charleston, Georgia, in the local hospital.
He has a BA in philosophy but decided for anthropology in which he holds a
PhD. He created "The Word Works" with wife Ruth, and they settled in a very
nice
city not far from Tokyo, Yokohama. His interests include 'lost in
translation', 'emic' approaches and anthropological methodology (what his wife
wittily
refers to, "You were not precisely upskirting your Daoist master, were you").

MCEVOY, Donal. He was born in Ulster (possibly in Derry). He moved to
London, where he studied law in LSE. Popper once wrote to him, and he chose
him as
his hero. He enjoys writing about Popper, and then some. He lives in a nice
London suburb where he mixes with Oxford DPhils ('the other day we were
wondering where the f-ck is Corpus Christi') -- sometimes he cannot see past
his
nose. He likes music, especially Bohemian rhapsodies.

from Yorkshire, where she bred dogs. She reads Priestley.

PAUL, Robert. He was born in Minnesota. He holds a MA in Philosophy and is
Professor Emeritus of none other than the Athens of the West, Reed College.
Indeed, without him, no Reed College. He studied in Oxford and the East Coast.
While at Reed, he would organise a conference by (or drive) Grice. He is
credited in many publications. He taught not just philosophy but world
literature. He enjoys Wittgenstein. He has a subtle feel for what Quine calls
in his
review of Strawson 'limpid vernacular'. Originally, his ancestors spoke
French.

PHOENIX, Joaquin. He writes intensively on a variety of topics.

RAMOS, Andreas. His German first name is due to the fact that his mother is
German. Born in Colombia, he was raised in Germany and was a witness to the
fall of the wall -- as many textbooks indicate. He lives in California, and
loves cats. He likes literature and ideas. Indeed, he founded this thing --
out
of THEORIA, and PHIL-LIT.

RITCHIE, David. He was born north of the Tweed, in Scotland, but moved to
East London, where he attended school. He now lives in Portland, Oregon, where
he presides the St. Andrews Society. He teaches art and engages in very
creative activities with his students. He has a daughter. He enjoys writing
poetry
and is an expert on slang, popular song, and swords.

SMITH, Carolyn. She is a cosmetologist -- works in a nursing home for
adults. She has written on beauty and make-up techniques for 'the over 60s'.
She is
also a physical therapist.

SPERANZA, J. L. -- born in the Italian Hospital of La Plata, province of
Buenos Aires -- but always considered himself 'portenho'. Has abodes,
appropriately, in both 'town' (Calle Arenales, Buenos Aires) and 'country'
(St. Michael
Hall). He holds a PhD in philosophy and has written on Grice and pragmatics.
He leads a group of amateur talented people for the appreciation of this and
that -- his forte is popular music and is currently studying Italian opera
in the 'international consciousness' (not so much the Italian one, which he
doesn't care much).

STANG, Ursula. Born in Germany, now lives in Canada. She writes on a variety
of topics.

TEEMU. Our Finnish correspondent. With Ramos, he is responsible for the
working of the list. He speaks Finnish. He has broad and varied interests:
literature, ideas, dogs.

WAGER, John. He has written on literature and philosophy. He has read
extensively and it shows. Recently he took a cruise around the world.

WARD, Simon. He was born in Sundon Park (the clinic there), in Luton,
Bedsfordshire -- (Home Counties), but was bred in Sussex. He now lives in
Dartmoor,
but not in the prison because as he says, "they don't have broadband there".
He collects Roman coins, keeps a beautiful rock garden, and nows everything
about Dartmoor, in central Devon.

WRIGHT, D. -- He lives in Memphis, and writes on a variety of topics. He has
a dog. He contributes with illuminating topics on a broad range of readings,
etc., that he's done.

YOST, Eric. He was born in New Haven, in CT. He now lives in New York City
-- Manhattan to be more specific, Lower Manhattan, East Side. He has
extraordinarily broad literary interests, and has read a lot at the right age
of
reading. He has a poetic sense of humour and can engage in various narratives:
philosophical, ideological, and music-hall.

And there are zillion others!

Feel free to add on
Cheers,

JL
