To this, you can add the demise of the web. Yep, the web. Remember the web?

I met with Yahoo a few weeks ago in LA and they told me that the UK, more
people use Yahoo
on PDAs than with desktop computers. Yahoo and others are retooling their
websites so these
are accessible via PDAs. That means... no more web design that makes sense on a
large
screen. High resolution photos, lots of graphics, etc., is out due to the
bandwidth limits
for PDAs.

Not so. More site access via PDA has been common in Japan for several
years now. The response is more work for designers who need to produce
sites accessible in both PC and PDA formats. Meanwhile, HDTV format
and quality images are the hot new thing in cell phones, the latest of
which from NTT unfold in a way that gives you a horizontal HDTV-format
screen. Not far down the pike are PDAs equipped with headsets that
position a viewing device in front of your eye positioned to produce
the effect of looking at a 100-inch plus TV.
