"So why use laugh tracks?"
A pointed question Woody Allen addresses in _Annie Hall_, wherein he is
horrified by his friend's use of laugh tracks in a TV sitcom. The scene
itself, however, is not particularly funny. It comes off as bitter
kvetching. Later, the same friend's use of an anti-radiation suit is funny.
Thinking people watch the hear the laugh tracks they deserve,
Eric
