Jihad away, Joerg, since without conflict there's no plot. I'm not sold on Microsoft either. Just don't care much for Linux, and Mac strikes me as a compositor's platform. Used a Mac for a while when I was copywriting for McGraw-Hill, mostly for InCopy and InDesign. It was okay, but not the great creative platform it's marketed as ... just okay.
A weird thing I've heard about Windows and Linux is the built-in war between the two. Apparently it's much safer to run two hard disks, one for Windows and one for Linux, than to partition one's computer for both operating systems. Windows will apparently attack Linux through the partition. Dogs and cats? Or something more sinister and monopolistic?
