WO: Descriptive. "Can admit of no ..." is transcendental. Transcendental claims
- the only claims btw that should be deemed "philosophical" since other
disciplines make non-transcendental claims and only philosophy makes
transcendental claims - intend to identify conceptual or logical conditions
necessary for the possibility of a discourse, practice or competence as well as
the limits there-in. Transcendental claims intend universality and necessity.
Linguistic practice can admit of neither feature. To which any learner of a
second language can well attest.
Univocally and unequivocally yours,
Walter O.
