Fascinating!  How exactly would one go about showing that, for example,
the Jews were not behind 9/11?

As I understand it, the beauty of a conspiracy theory lies in failure to
prove them false being evidence for their truth.  And any conspiracy
theory worth its salt has conspirators cunning enough to leave hints but
no proof.  Ergo, proof is always evidence of a false trail and failure
to show proof evidence of the right trail.  Good stuff!

The obvious literary reference would have to be Eco's _Foucault's
Pendulum_.  Is there a better book on conspiracy theory?
