There is a tremendous Westernizing force at work in Iran that is
terrifying for some.  Nothing like creating a war environment to
emphasize who the enemy is and focus a population's attention on
something other than domestic woes.  As in the U.S., political rhetoric
in Iran about the enemy is primarily intended for domestic audiences.
