HEY! Not *all* of us!! and, btw, I'm not cross with those sneaking across the border. I'm cross with our letting them do it simply because we (ie those in charge) would prefer to let that happen in order to keep wages down. And, having a fortress mentality--I am not sure I understand what is really wrong with that. Mexico has that on its other side...so, the 'fairness'piece in me says that if Mexico is going to say we should be free and open to its citizens, then Mexico ought to be free and open to those south of its border. In addition, sure--it would be (and will) nice when everyone in the world gets to be the middle class. I'm still not sure that the US has to drop down in order for that to happen...and watching and guarding our borders (maybe helping those who are caught sneaking in to figure out a way to get in legally? I'm sure if we create a lucrative contract for that, Halliburton would be willing to do it...) The anti-immigrant crowd is strongly opposed to higher taxes and more government. yrs, andreas www.andreas.com ------------------------------------------------------------------ To change your Lit-Ideas settings (subscribe/unsub, vacation on/off, digest on/off), visit www.andreas.com/faq-lit-ideas.html
