Amid yesterday evening's seder readings, I drifted off to Burkina Faso. My daughter, in one of the wealthiest countries in the world, is being asked to do a "unit" or a "project," or however the current parlance goes, on one of the poorest countries in the world. This caused me to imagine a bright kid getting the idea of calling a number over there, at random. Of course the conversation would be in French, but I'll render it in English.

'allo. D'you live in Burkina Faso?
Who's this?
I'm a student in the United States of America.
Not again?
What do you mean?
Well, you're the fourth this week.

Can any one of you guys imagine how the rest of it might go? Great honor or glory will attend the winner...briefly...sic transit and all that.
