Surely only dead chickens can be kosher (or not). Perhaps there was a separate edict addressing that...
I bought "Reading Lolita..." when several here were discussing it but then never got around to it. On my list...

This could be an opening that peace loving people have long sought--the opportunity to conduct foreign policy through humor rather than missiles. Clearly, though, the West will have the upper hand again, because we have the best comics.


The Mullahs probably don't want to go down that road. Just Ayatollah Khomenei's edict advising young Muslim men when it is appropriate to have sex with chickens (as recounted in _Reading Lolita in Tehran_) is enough to go for weeks and weeks. And what if the chicken is kosher?
