I'll ask again Lawrence: Do you want Huntington to be right? Do you want a war of
Civilisations? Well?
Lawrence despises Europe for refusing to fight. He applauds a war in Iraq. He doesn't give a
damn about democracy. It's war that he really wants. This is the theory of
neo-conservatives. War as a moral restorative.
Guess what? Game over. The USA lost in Iraq. The US is no longer relevant to Iraqi politics.
This is now being decided by al-Sadr and Iran. The War on Terror? It's over. The US is just
hanging around in the front yard after the party, while the men are in the office, making
decisions.
