This might be termed an 'Andyism'. Therapy-speak and the uncritically held
Freudian theory of the mind as a hydraulic system [so anger etc. directed
inward produces depression] (why not argue, conversely, that depression is
anger directed outwards) seem to characterise this POV that does not deign to
offer reliable empirical tests in support of itself.
