I am a bit sympathetic because charges of racism, sexism, homophobia,
etc. within the context of an argument or dialogue, function like the
nuclear option. Once you drop it, the entire landscape is destroyed
and there is no going back. However, if one has given up on notions
such as truth and justice, reducing all encounters to aesthetics or
politics, then charges like that of racism are legitimate means to
whatever ends one desires at the moment.
