Eric's file was .jpg.  That's why I didn't run it through my photo editor --
which converts files to .jpg for uploading.  I don't know what the
difference was between Eric's .jpg and photoshop's .jpg, but it must be
something.

The problem was (I think) that Eric tried to upload a
file type Blogger won't accept

Yes there are -- and you can do something like that
with Blogger (but it's no easier than the current 

a.  Login

b.  Choose Create New Post

c.  Click on the Insert Image icon
