I went to collect my tennis racket from the shop where it was being re-strung.
Like many a small store in a strip mall, this one opens onto a parking lot,
around which is about a three foot wide strip of grass that is maintained by
Spanish-speaking workers of a mow-and-blow service. Except yesterday they were
being put out of work by immigrants. Carefully working their way down the
slight green island was a group of Canada Geese. I blame NAFTA.
