A.A. Andy is figuring out? I couldn't care less about religion. I marvel
that people have so great a need for it. Even today science is a devil to
be cast out by God. The need to embrace ignorance is amazing, but most of
the world is this way. For Austin, can you elaborate as to the difference
between faith and belief? Doesn't your defining yourself as a Quaker
exclude non-Quakers? Don't you feel a sense of superiority knowing that
you possess some sort of truth others don't possess? If not, then why be a
Quaker?

A.A. Religion could be fun if it weren't so deadly serious. On the other
hand, if it were fun, it wouldn't be religion. I saw a segment on CNN
where rappers were doing religion and it drew inner city kids by the
hundreds (Detroit?). How many people aren't aghast at that idea? Even
there, it isn't the religion that was the draw, it was the loud music and
party atmosphere. If religion were an excuse for fun, I'd take it.
Religious roller skating music to a hymn played on an organ for people like
Austin and me, instead of chanting along in some church pew. Not going to
happen.

A.A. Not a chance.

A.A. Yep, you got it. God needs constant approval, constant reassurance.
Get ye to a nunnery I say.
Faith it, actually, a serious

A.A. Unhealthy for the world too. Hasn't stopped anybody. Hasn't even
slowed them down.
