No, I'm stating that one must always pay attention to motives, whether the motive is Cindy Sheehan's motives and their implications for her manifesto, Andy's motives for always seeking explanations in bad parenting ... or for that matter, my motives for looking at motives. 

It seems much more interesting that way.
