The Right is using a seasonal symbol that's only marginally Christian to advance its
agenda.
If the Christian wingnuts really meant it, they'd be the first to ban Xmas. It has nothing
to do with Mario or whatever he was called.
The Left wants to support the destruction of tradition and its replacement by global
corporate Newspeak.
When I tell Californians about the "Great Christmas Panic", they think it's an Onion story.
Nobody, absolutely zero, on the left (which starts at Centrist Republican and moves leftward
from there) has even thought about banning Christmas. It's part of the long holiday season
that starts with Halloween, Turkey Day, Tree Day, New Years, and ends with Bunny Day.

As for the global corporate conspiracy (GCC), they love xmas. Ka-ching! They love to spread
the idea of consumerism into other cultures. Sales, marketing, etc.
