[lit-ideas] Cerberus

In "Feral Dogs by the River", L. Helm writes of

>a Boxer. From its docked tail and appearance I assumed it to be pure bred.

And then there's, talking of feral-feral, Cerberus, so infamously
represented by them wicked Greeks. Trust a philosopher to defend the dog's
aspect. In
Peri episton (p. 331), Heraclitus claims:

"Kerberos has two pups which are never away from their father,
as such Kerberos is in fact a normal (however very large) dog.
It's over-imaginative artists who incorporate the two pups into
their work 'make it appear as if' his two children are in fact
          extra heads."

Cheers,
