  ck: Nope. Most murders are committed by someone the victim knows. That 
description has been expanded, in recent years, to include members of 
gangs--that is, acquaintances. Young men, under 25, are the bigtime victims and 
perps. 

  NB: Are we including the horrible violations against women worldwide, in this 
tsking session? Murders in Juarez? Gang rape ordered by a Pakistani judge as 
justice for a woman's brother's crime, for instance?  How about sex slaves in 
Canada?
