RP: Paul Stone has a pretty good case. Mike's use
of double quotes to mark off 'me' suggests that
he's using 'me' as a name (compare 'using me as a
name')
EY: _Words into Type_, 3rd edition, bypasses the
problem by referring to "proper nouns and proper
adjectives and words used as proper nouns."
By referring to "words used as proper nouns," it
allows for differences in house style, but also
raises the philosophical distinction between
"proper nouns" and "words used as proper nouns."
