(Although Khomeini did not attack countries in order to export the Islamic revolution.) But then, we know about Fukuyama don't we ? Hoping that one's personal values will eventually prevail everywhere is found in places other than the US. I seem to remember having read that Trotsky wanted to export the Bolshevik Revolution, while Stalin prefered the concept of "Socialism in one country."
