Does anyone else find it ironic (at best) that the number of U.S. soldiers killed in the war on Iraq now equals the number of lives lost on 9/11?

The number of troops killed in Iraq is (last I heard) just over 2,100; the death toll on 9/11 in New York, was 2,752. This doesn't include the deaths in Washington, or the deaths of those on the airline that was brought down in Pennsylvania.

But I'm not sure why this would be 'ironic.' The number of Army and Navy deaths at Pearl Harbor was 2,403; the number of US combat deaths in World War II was 292,131. (There were were 115,185) other military deaths—from accident, disease, etc.)
