[Linuxtrent] ubuntu 14.04 su acer core i3 4gb di rama e freeza?

ho installato ubuntu 64 bit su un acer 5742G cpu i3, con scheda video
nvidiaGT540M.
purtroppo il desktop si spegneva improvvisamente e ripetutamente dopo pochi
secondi di utilizzo ho così pensato di utilizzare i driver proprietari
nvidia.
I driver di nvidia vanno meglio ma il desktop ogni tanto (troppo spesso)
freeza, con la combinazione ctrl+alt+f1, mi sposto sul login da terminale e
poi ritorno sul desktop che nel frattempo si è ravvivato.
mi piacerebbe però capirne un po' di più
qui sotto un po' di righe di dmesg
