Exactly. I'm not sure whether to laugh about it or cry about it, but
trying to actually have a sensible conversation with Cirrus about their
Linux support is absolutely wasted time.

That's so absolutely ridiculous that it's not even funny.
Me and some others have done more for upstream ep93xx support than
anyone else, and the upstream kernel (even if it doesn't support all
peripherals) is in a much better state than the Cirrus ep93xx kernel
tree ever was, and yet Cirrus deem it necessary to marginalise my
efforts whenever they can, saying such things that no paying Cirrus
customer would ever use my work, that no paying Cirrus customer would
ever use code that was not written by Cirrus[*], et cetera.
Shame on Cirrus.

I guess that ep93xx will be obsolete by the time their next kernel
release comes out. (Well, some people already consider ep93xx pretty
much obsolete..)
[*] I guess that means that Cirrus wrote the entire Linux kernel, then.
