Heh, I wanted to try that out and found that I don't know how to play a
CD through xmms at all. So according to the standard behaviour of
species homo 'sapiens', when asked a question, I'll answer another one.
I'm using cdcd and I think that you'd like it very much too, so try it
out. It has everything one needs except a GUI - it's text-based but very
easy to use (the interface is similar to that of a text-based ftp
client).
