Apparently the Parallels emulation software that runs Windows apps under Intel-based OS X systems will soon reach version 3.0, with explicit support for accelerated 3D graphics (both OpenGL and DirectX).

Which means engineering and scientific Windows apps that need 3D acceleration (like Leveller) should run much closer to normal speed on OS X (yay).

Leveller 2.6's terrain renderer switched from per-scanline triangle strips to per-slab geometry buffers, so GL call overhead has been reduced, which should help emulators even more.
