A new test app, DEMedit, has been added to the Daylon download area.
It lets one view DEM files in various GDAL-supported formats (e.g.,
BT, USGS DEM/SDTS, GeoTIFF, etc.) and perform common operations such as cropping, resampling, etc. and test that georeferenced coordinates are maintained correctly. Other features will be added and then the validated logic will be moved into a future version of Leveller. More info available in its documentation file.

Some datum/projection combinations may not work, since DEMedit does not include the external data files used by the supporting libraries.

My thanks to Ben Discoe of vterrain.org and Frank Warmerdam of gdal.org for their help.
