[LRflex] Re: why leicas are expensive

The fine craftsmanship (or Canadian or Portugese or Japanese in some
cases)!!!!!!! The law of diminishing returns -- the last 10% costs 90% more.
It's what you have to spend if you want the closest you can get to Medium
Format quality in 35mm.

Erwin Puts or someone did a comparison and found that Leica M was 40% less
expensive than the M3 was in 1954 adjusted for inflation (depending on what
currency you are comparing and what idex you are using). Then Leica must have
read that statistic and the price went up from US$2295 to US$3295 in a few
increments. (With a free motor drive or Leicavit to be fair).

  Hello

I checked many cameras for price. I found leica
cameras are very expensive than Nikon or canon.
Could anyone tell me what could be the reason. Is it
because of sheer brand image
