Thanks Etienne again.

Very nice to know the R4 can be operated without the standard
batteries, but I find it a pity it does not rewind.
I don't know that I have much use of the drive itself (15Euros
for a roll of provia 400 cools down shooting at 4 frames/sec..) 
I was used to my R3MOT for lazy or fast winding. But I wanted
the grip, which cannot be used without a winder/drive, when
shooting with the 2  X extender and the 70 x 3 as find the body
too small and the shutter release ill placed and tricky to fire.
I now have the best of both worlds. And sound a clear advice
from you on top of it!
 
Leica glass, well, I'm a bit embarassed on that one as I only own
one since I parted with my Leitz 70/210, the remainder is
Angenieux and I'm quite pleased with it.

BTW : We might call the list - instant advice service for leica
users, 24h a day, 7 days a week.
