[LRflex] Re: ever-ready case for SL

>> I bought myself a christmas gift in November already;-) It`s a Leicaflex
SL. The camera is in very good condition, apart from the strap lugs - they
are almost worn out. Doug told me they can be replaced, but I don`t want to
part with the camera after I just got it. So I was thinking of ever-ready
case for the SL. Do they come with strap lugs? Anyone can tell me? Have been
searching the internet, but the photos don`t show me clearly.

Miha mon ami,

There isn't a camera case made that's an "ever-ready case"!

As soon as you put a leather case on any camera it immediately ceases to be
"READY FOR IMMEDIATATE USE!"

Yes there will be all kinds of arguments and rebuttals to my remarks. But
the living experience truth is, "as soon as the case is on the camera it's
of no more immediate instantaneous use!" If you don't believe me, fine.

You of course will eventually learn I speak the truth. :-)

I've never had a case on a Leica camera to the extent of carrying several
pre-M's and certainly none on three M's off my neck to my chest since the M4
became my camera of choice. These were changed to M5, M6, M7 and now M8.
Although at the moment I'm only using one M8. That could change. But no case
has ever shared the body of any of my Leica cameras in over 50 years.

Add the same number 3 at a time, starting with the SL, SL2, R4, R7, R8's.
And never a case on any of them.

At present the 3 R8's I have still look like new and they've never had a
case.

A suggestion for the money? Use it to buy film and shoot more pictures. I'm
sure you'll have a far greater value for your money!
