David, good point!  No way can these last two photos I've posted be considered 
wildlife, it's more like they're portraits of these particular birds.  My 
access is much easier with these birds, but as representatives of wild 
creatures there's much to be desired.  For example the captive-bred Peregrine 
Falcon is a mix of two Peregrine Falcon subspecies.  A more detail-oriented 
birder than I am would notice that this bird is neither one subspecies or the 
other, an unlikely combination in the wild.  There are probably similar issued 
with Kalie the Eagle Owl, who has been raised by humans and at 8 months old (or 
so I am told) she's like a puppy with feathers.

I think it's important to identify captive specimens for what they are.  I 
don't feel like it diminishes the impact of the photo, but I don't want to 
mislead anyone into believing that birds that look or behave exactly like these 
will nessesarily be found in the wild.
