[LRflex] Re: Why?

Not at school, UK grammar schools weren't that progressive in the 60s
My dad had a darkroom in the cellar, he did still photography and 9,5 mm
Pathe home movies with a clockwork camera.
I sort of picked it up from there at the age of 12 or so - got my first
SLR when I was 15 (Contaflex) moved on through Yashica SLR and RF, then
a year in London with hardly any photography at all (I didn't earn
enough and preferred to eat every now and again), moved to Germany and
found loads of second hand goodies like a Rollei (SL2000F), my first
Leica (M2) then Leica R, thn a Leica M6 (the first camera I ever bought
new),Rollei 6x6 and ended up with a modest lens and camera collection
and a couple of well used Canon DSLRs.
Sometimes find myself absolutely overwhelmed by equipment and just can't
be bothered to go out and shoot anything. On other days I'll shoot
virtually anything that happens to cross my path.
Never could get into either lab work or video, if I do use film these
days then it's slides.
Cheers
Douglas
