Car drivers in Holland are trained to spot for cyclists.
We have a law which says that when a car hits a cyclist the car is ALWAYS the guilty one. 
In that way Amsterdam is taken over by cyclists.

Other: Holland/The Netherlands is wonderful for bikers alright, but not for tourists driving too close to the kerb/pavement; this reminds me a most sonorous episode while in The Hague in the car of the French Embassy ...
