I would like to put some photos up too but I have to investigate hosting.
Hi Steven!
Don't bother to investigate web-hosting!
I wasn't going to make any announcement just yet, because things are not
quite ready; but it would seem that within a few weeks, we will have our
own, LRFlex On-Line Gallery- as a no-cost option!
Watch this space, as the officious announcement will be made here, soon! :)
And, speaking of which, it is really encouraging that Leica would be
interested in support for this earlier model at this point in time.... Does
this mean spare parts for things that might eventually go out are still
available? thanks
Leica, like Quad (audio) and a very few others, support almost
everything. Some years ago, they gave up supporting LTM cameras, but
Kindermann Canada bought Leica's entire supply of LTM parts and nearly
everything is still available through them! I can't think of any other
camera company (except Tom. Abrahamsson's RapidWinder.com) who support
their gear for 40+ years after the last of a series is
manufactured. Nikon, for example, will only guarantee parts for 5 years
after the model (not series) is discontinued!
Because of this, if I'm going to put $2,500 into a top line body, it's got
to last me a very long time, and I want to be able to get repair, should I
need it! So, I use Leica.
Enjoy that R4!
