<I must confess, that the LeiCanon 30D is no match for the DMR - and
the finder is adequate, but that's all. However, I find myself
becoming very pleased with FC... with my failing eyesight, it makes
everything just a wee bit easier. True, it may not be as accurate as
perfect manual focus, but it's as good as much of *my* manual
focus... at least, these days!>
I'd agree David....the AF with the Nikon D200 makes using the camera easy
and quick, especially when trying to follow the grand-kids around.....
however, for more deliberate work I'd also agree that the R8/R9 are easy to
focus. I guess if the new camera had AF or assist that could be
intentionally turned off as desired then all of us would be satisfied!
