I had one of these pieces of junk! Yes I did have some decent looking  B&W & 
colour negatives along with Kodachromes while it stayed together.

However, it gradually fell apart in my hands! Like everything wiggled in the 
lens barrel I eventually gave it to Rhinehold Mueller for parts and bought 
the Apo 70-180. Now there's a piece of glass and a ton of quality!

I eventually sold it for basically no reason. Of course felt bad after, as 
is the case anytime one sells a Leica lens they think they don't use enough 
to warrant owning it. However it was replaced with one of the best damn zoom 
lenses I've had in hand... the Leica R 80-200 f.4.0! A Super lens and cuts 
like a razor blade, film or digital!

I use it as a regular lens with the Leicanon 20D usually around 5.6 or 8. 
Wide open? Yep lots of times when I shoot a subject that's sharp in 
foreground and want the background to go into the most beautiful mush of 
colour one can want. Oh yes and as I do when many others don't, I use it 
with the 2X extender lots of times. I mean nothing like a 160-400 f 8.00 
lens!

A beauty lens. As far as the 70-210 and a cheap price? hell save your money 
and get the 80-200 receiving a far better value for your money in the long 
run!
