[LRFlex] Traveling Telyt

Folks -

Regarding shleppage and protection for the mighty 400, here's something that has worked for me.

Took a canoe trip in northern Michigan last summer; decided that an SL with the 400 6.8 and a 24 would be just about right.
Got an old tripod bag, rolled up a piece of foam rubber into a tube for a shock lining and enclosed it in a huge heavy-gauge zip-lock kinda bag that I got from a surplus place here in town so that the lens would slip in & out easily. The camera could also remain mounted for quick-draw use (although the shoulder stock had to stay separated). In the boat, the plastic bag could be pulled out and used for protection. It all worked just great; I also never seemed to want any lens other than the two that I had brought.

Here's a snap from that expedition:

Now Doug & Ted can bust me about not carrying an extension tube...
