A personal statistic: with the exception of the recent flowers, over 60% of the stuff posted recently on my galleries is from film.
Well,it's scanned, so it's digital anyway if you think about it....

I've recently adopted a cheaper and convenient halfway house, getting colour neg film developed and scanned straight to CD - no prints. This works very well, as I save a lot of time by not having to scan stuff for the Web. I can then adjust hi-res CD images in PS5 and then save them as small JPEGs suitable for the Net.

For high quality prints, however, there's no substitute IMHO for a 20Mb+ file from film, tho' the results from the hi-res JPEGs on disk aren't at all bad in A4 size.

So basically I only print the 3 or four 'keepers' per roll from scanned negs, which certainly helps in keeping the backlog down.

For the moment, I've no intention of putting my film-basd Nikons or Leicas out to grass. I enjoy using them too much.

Best
