Wait a minute, David. What makes you think I am not a film enthuiast? Just because I have borrowed the school's digital rebel for a few shots does not mean I am not a film user. I doubt I will be getting digital until Leica comes out with a nice body that I can buy used from someone, or until Canon makes a 20mp body for under $2000. The race is on....

Hi Aram!

You have, perhaps, more patience than I have, Aram!

I am becoming very tempted by the 8.2 mp Canon 20d. I think (based on reports in the trade pubs I get), that with few exceptions, the market for digi-cams will peak out at 7mp for the P&S market and 10mp for the SLR market.

Because most cost reductions in the electronics business come from making things smaller and because smaller sensors (pixels) don't catch as much light, there are practical limits to what can be done. Full sized sensors can carry more pixels, but currently, only at huge cost.

Personally, I'd prefer to wait for the Canon 20d Mk II, with spot metering and 10mp, but I'm not sure I have that much patience!

Sorry about taking your name in vain! I needed a couple of names for my story line and yours, amongst others, came to mind. No offence intended.

Cheers!
